Half Term Children’s Valentine’s Day Workshop
Tuesday 14 February 2012, 10am-4pm
A day to stitch whatever you fancy (it doesn’t have to be a heart) – crazy critters, a bag, cushion, aprons, a skirt or top, zipper purse, fabric jewels or perhaps you have another idea. This workshop is suitable for all – beginners and super stitchers alike.
Unless otherwise stated, we supply everything – fabrics, haberdashery (ribbons, buttons and other bits and bobs), patterns, skill instructions and tuition as well as all equipment, including sewing machines. If you have an idea of something particular which you would like to make discuss it with Sam first to make sure we are prepared for it
1 day workshop: £46
Adults Workshops
If you are an adult hoping for a sewing machine for Christmas or want to start or develop a new skill in 2012 our beginners classes or Thursday morning workshop are ideal.
Get Started With a Sewing Machine: Make a Tote Bag and Zippy purse

Adults Saturday workshop over two Saturday afternoons:
21 and 28 January, 2pm-5:30pm
25 February and 3 March, 2pm-5:30pm
An introduction to your machine – how it works, how to thread it, select stitches, how to sew a seam, basic trouble-shooting and how to make a project from scratch. By the end of the workshop you should feel sufficiently confident to go home and get started on your own machine and you will have a lovely tote bag and zip purse.
The cost is £70 for the two afternoons. All materials, equipment and tuition is included. Tea and coffee provided. Only 6 places are available in each class.
Adult’s Informal Workshops
Thursday mornings 9:45-12:00
These sessions are for mixed skill levels and although suitable for beginners do not include a full introduction to the sewing machine. These are drop in sessions where you can bring an item you want to make, a project you are stuck on or if you prefer Sam can to set you a challenge.
You have access to our Janome sewing machines and all the fabrics, notions and ideas in our studio. Sam is available to work through the projects, offer advice and to develop techniques.
The cost is £46 for each pair of weeks. You can book 4 or more sessions for £42 per fortnight.
A maximum of 6 places available in each class.
Look out for new Stitch! Felt kits in the new Little Willows shop in Pinner High Street.
Simple beginners kits which include all you need to make a simple felt critter.Summer Makes
Fun Makes from Summer Workshops and Term Time Clubs
The end of the Summer term and the Summer Workshops have produced some wonderfully imaginative makes. My favourite Summer workshop was was indigo dyeing – we had a slow start but the magic of indigo and shibori was exciting. Some lovely items were made – cushions, bags and two skirts.
